AIM, OBJECTIVES & SCOPE
The Pakistan Economic and Social Review (PESR) ISSN: 1011-002X (print), 2224-4174 (Online) is the oldest published journal of Pakistan in the field of Economics (Since 1952). PESR is published by the School of Economics, University of the Punjab, Lahore. It is a double peer-reviewed & biannual journal providing a platform for academicians, researchers, professionals and policymakers to publish original research papers. PESR aims to bridge the gap between academic and policy research. PESR is an open-access (open license: Creative Commons) journal.
The Journal accepts research-intensive papers on narrowly focused topics only in the case of Pakistan. Policy-oriented papers on broader topics other than Pakistan are welcomed. PESR covers various applied economics topics, including micro and macro empirical research using scientific methods. Subject areas include but are not limited to development, health, education, demography, finance, trade, agriculture, labour, environment, and energy. The papers with rigorous public policy aspects and economic and social theoretical perspectives are valued.
PESR follows the ethical guidelines of HEC and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). PESR is an HEC-recognized "Y" category journal indexed in the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC), the International Bibliography of EcoLit, EBSCO, Index Copernicus, Publons, and LabourDoc. Previous issues are also available at JSTOR.
